Kunde hospital is a 15-bed facility, which lies at the base of Mount Everest. At a height of 3,840m (above sea level) it is the highest hospital in the world. Founded by Sir Edmund Hillary (the first person to climb Mt. Everest), Kunde Hospital is on the way to Everest Base Camp, which is a 2 days walk from Lukla (the gateway to Everest) which boasts one of the more popular starting points for a journey to Mount Everest due to the close proximity of its airport.

 

Kunde hospital provides medical services to the people of the Himalayas as well as international tourists from around the world. The Stat Fax 4500 Chemistry Analyzer, manufactured by Awareness Technology has been in service at this facility for the past 8 years and has helped provide diagnostic information focused on treatment and the promotion of preventive health programs through the hospitals clinics offering services such as health education, vaccination, family planning and maternity services.
