Machine Shop - CNC Operator
CNC Operator must be able to:
- setup and operate CNC equipment
- interpret drawings and work instructions.
- observe machine operations to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
- use precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and calipers.
- perform typical machine shop operations, including having the ability to view production drawings and understand them quickly, including tolerances, machining symbols, geometric symbols and drawing notes.
- consult with in-process inspector for first article inspection for quality assurance purposes; and inspect work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.
- perform secondary operational duties (deburring & cleaning of machined parts).
- post edit CNC program to fine tune the process for optimum performance.
- inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
- clean and maintain machine, tooling, and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition.
- work safely and follow all safety regulations.
- exercise special care to ensure the machine is running correctly as damage to the machine may be costly.
Education and Experience requirements:
- high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- minimum of 24 months experience as a CNC operator in a manufacturing environment.
- experience in using precision measuring equipment.
