Machine Shop - CNC Operator  

CNC Operator must be able to:

• setup and operate CNC equipment
• interpret drawings and work instructions.
• observe machine operations to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
• use precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and calipers.
• perform typical machine shop operations, including having the ability to view production drawings and understand them quickly, including tolerances, machining symbols, geometric symbols and drawing notes.
• consult with in-process inspector for first article inspection for quality assurance purposes; and inspect work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.
• perform secondary operational duties (deburring & cleaning of machined parts).
• post edit CNC program to fine tune the process for optimum performance.
• inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
• clean and maintain machine, tooling, and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition.
• work safely and follow all safety regulations.
• exercise special care to ensure the machine is running correctly as damage to the machine may be costly.

Education and Experience requirements:

• high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• minimum of 24 months experience as a CNC operator in a manufacturing environment.
• experience in using precision measuring equipment.
