Assembly Team Leader
1st Shift
SUMMARY The Team Leader acts as the lead of a specific work group and provides training and instruction to Assemblers. This is a hands-on position that oversees the staff and processes to assure production goals are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Manages production staff and processes for a defined area, includes supervising, planning and directing production to produce quality products at the lowest cost per unit.
• Trains and motivates line employees to achieve production goals.
• Monitors and compares actual times against standard times for operations performed. Ability to investigate, understand, and put measures in place to correct differences.
• Ability to assure schedules are achieved in accordance to requirements defined within the Burn-In Schedule.
• Responsible to assist Assemblers with assembly, training, and parts acquisition.
• Responsible for assuring assemblers have correct tooling for properly performing their work assignments.
• Assures Assemblers are properly trained to utilize required tooling in a safe manner.
• May be asked to interview candidates for open positions.
• May be asked to write performance reviews.
• Must be able to administer disciplinary actions including verbal and written warnings for issues requiring such action.
• Must have strong ability to lead a team of people.
• Responsible to review work procedures to assure they properly define work instructions.
• Assures Assemblers use their work procedures in the performance of their tasks.
• Must be able to operate within standard operating procedures.
• Assures work areas and work stations are kept neat and orderly to optimize efficiency and quality of work.
• Assures that entire area of responsibility is maintained in a neat orderly fashion consistent with Awareness Technology Inc. standards and also promotes safe working conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Three (3) years experience in production environment, excellent communication and writing skills, and the ability to oversee multiple production projects.
• Extensive hands-on electro-mechanical assembly experience
• Ability to solder
• Able to communicate well with all supporting departments including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Sales, Machine Shop, Quality Control, Test, Stock Room, Shipping, and the Finish Shop, should the requirement occur.
• Must be able to work multiple priorities with stringent schedules. Able to rationalize and prioritize tasks for optimal outcome.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Electro-mechanical assembly experience
• Ability to solder
• Prefer a minimum of three (3) years extensive experience overseeing a production line in a related industry
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Must be able to communicate well with all levels within the organization
• Good writing skills required
• Able to read and interpret assembly work instructions and schedules, and effectively communicate the information to staff in English
REASONING ABILITY
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
