Awareness
Technology Honored with Presidential E-Star Award for Success in Exporting |
|
Commerce Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy Ben Wu today
presented Awareness Technology Inc. of Palm City, FL, with the Presidential E-Star Award
for excellence in exporting. The award is the highest honor the federal government can
give to an American exporting company. It recognizes U.S. firms for their competitive
achievements in world markets and their part in increasing U.S. exports abroad.
"Awareness Technology is an outstanding example of how small business innovation and
ingenuity is working to build economic opportunity across our nation, Wu said.
Small businesses like these create most of the new jobs in America, and the Bush
administration will continue to work hard to help U.S. firms increase their exports. I
congratulate Awareness Technology on their outstanding accomplishment.
Awareness Technology, Inc. is a family-owned-designer and manufacturer of laboratory
instruments and chemical analyzers that are used mostly in health care/clinical
diagnostics. Awareness Technology participates in collaborative worldwide export
counseling, trade shows, and numerous other export services for international sales to
China, Russia, England, Canada, Saudi Arabia, India, Germany, and the United Arab
Emirates. Today, the firm exports to more than 100 countries.
The President's "E Star" Award recognizes continued superior performance in
increasing or promoting exports. Awareness Technology was honored with the President's E
Award in 2000. From 2000 to 2004, Awareness Technology increased its total sales
attributable to exports by 15 percentwith exports now accounting for 84 percent of
the firms total sales. |
